You are about to feel better about yourself...

I was just poking around the blogosphere this morning and I came across this post written by Karen who lives across the pond :^). I think that what she writes speaks of truth that took me awhile to get to.
Nothing special going on around here. I have been cleaning and decluttering things this week which always makes me feel like I can breathe better. My next stop is my classroom, and lemme tell ya...you have no idea what an undertaking this is going to be. I am tempted, ~but fearful~ to post the before pictures just so you can see what I have ahead of me. Hmmm, maybe that will motivate me to actually get it done because I will *have* to post the after shot pretty soon, right?...Ok, here it is...with fear and trepidation I post...

Ok, just in case you missed it...this is my desk up close:

Yeah, how bout them apples? If you can beat my mess in your office/classroom, I dare you...NO, I triple dog dare you (what the heck does that mean anyway...triple dog?) anyway, I triple dog dare you to post on your blog.
However, if you are choking on your coffee at the sight of these pictures....well...just lie to me, it'll be alright.
Have a great day everyone! And don't forget to read Karen's post (link above).

Dear Sweet Gayle, If I could I'd be on the plane to help you out. I love to organize. I can't wait to see after pictures. Thing is - the kids are at VBS and right this very moment - I'm watching one of my favorite shows: Mission Organization. Keep up the good work - it will feel wonderful when schooling starts again. How do you like having your schoolroom right next to the kitchen? We played with that idea (in a home we were recently looking at) - no - we are not moving - at least not right now...

Gayle I never would have guessed there was a hidden messy side to you! But all I'm thinking is "it's not that bad, you can see the floor" ;-)

Gayle,
This is not so bad. I have a room in the basement that I store all my craft things and school things. I just cleaned it up because it looked like a tornado blew through there. It's still not great but it is alot better than before. I would be too embarrassed to post pictures of it. You are a brave soul. I know you'll get it all done and it will look great. Then you can sit back and take a sigh of relief.

Aww..you will feel so good after it is all done!! I know I do - I did this exact thing not to long ago (I have since rearranged, and will be posting more pics soon) I am going to try to link my post with my pictures *notice I didn't even put the one of the computer desk in -it was too bad (you can see a tiny corner of it though)!

Oh my! My desk was so much worse, but I conquered it! If I can do it, you can. Go Gayle! Go Gayle! By the way, my basement is so awful right now. I should take pictures and just email them to you, because no way would I post them on my blog. They would make you feel great about your schoolroom. The cleaning and organizing without having to do school at the same time feels positively restful to me. I'm no multi-tasker.

I feel honoured Gayle :-)
Hey, it doesn't look so bad, and that dog is soooo cute! My hubby cringes at our bed, because he pulls back the covers and I have an army of books and magazines that need moving first. Reading material I accumulate!! Big hugs to you. I so enjoy your blog and your 'minty fresh' approach to things - meaning, that lovely fragrance, that fresh-ness you get from mint. It is only 8.30am so if I'm not making too much sense, I apologise!

Gayle,
At least your tornado leaves things nicely in baskets;-) Honestly it is not too bad at all and I know you will be thrilled when you are done. I can't wait to see the after pictures!

Wow, it must be catching! I spent about 6 hours cleaning out Abby's closet today! (This is after being up all night because she was sick and after a trip to the doctor first thing this morning.) Gotta tell you...it is so hard to do, but once it is done, you feel soooo good! I love looking at this neat, organized, totally clean closet. It was worth it. You can do it!!!! (I'd post a picture but I don't know how!)

As soon as someone wants to see my school room I start apologizing and explaining my mess. I hate the way my school room looks. It is so cluttered and messy. I usually get it organized in the beginning of the year but by the end of the year it is trashed!

I love, love, LOVE to organize!! I just can't KEEP it organized.

I can't wait to see the "after"!!

This will inspire me to do the same to my school room.

Go inspire me Gayle!! ;-)

At least you HAVE a schoolroom! Mine is our dining room~ so we have to keep it somewhat cleaned up or we'd have no place to eat! Let me tell you, though, some nights it's a mad dash to clean off the table to set it for supper!

Oh, my! In getting ready to put our house on the market, I pulled the drawers out from underneath my boys' bed to clean...I was so disgusted! When my dh got home I told him if he wanted to fire me as housekeeper, I would completely understand and not argue. Besides the fact it's cleaned up now, and our camera is broken, there is no way I would've posted a picture of that mess. Triple dog, or not! LOL

This is GREAT. Your desk might beat mine, BUT if you could see my fridge right now... let's just say, every time we open it, something (butter, milk, unidentified leftovers) come flying out at you. That however is a picture you WON'T be seeing. I always seem to have atleast one spot that needs a mega overhaul. This week the fridge, but once that gets done, it will creep us somewhere else, I guarantee it. ~Karlie

I don't feel better about myself -- but I do feel like someone else might understand me better! lol

My desk looks almost IDENTICAL to your desk right now!

It's a tie!

I am just better at hiding it in my closets, drawers, and under beds!
I did clean out a cabinet and 2 drawers today though...I thought it was called spring cleaning~not summer cleaning! I guess we are all a little behind!;-)

Is there something wrong with your computer desk??? :-) Our desk is pretty much like that too. I never, ever have a perfectly tidy house. God bless! bobbi

Hey, that looks like MY desk! I rarely get to blog browse, but cannot sleep tonight and found yours somehow :). I have loved reading it...I started at your old HSB and then hopped over here.
Many blessings,
Tina
PS I will be praying for you and your family!
