Atlanta ~ Siesta Style

I just spent the weekend in Hotlanta with a bunch of my sweet Siestas from the LPM blog and it was incredible. Absolutely incredible.

I actually learned a few things about myself while I was there, you will be bored to know. Life Lessons at their finest. My first realization, is that I can't hang on little sleep like I could back in the day, y'all. Precisely translated, that means I. am. old. I am so stinkin tired today, which is the reason I can't, for the life of me, segue to the next paragraph...

Robyn and I left the Ham on Saturday morning and chatted it up the whole way there. We were barely in our AWESOME room when we both had our feet propped up on the coffee table plucking away at our respective laptops (because that's how we bloggers roll). After we finished emailing, tweeting, updating status', ect., we went to find the girls.

I want you to know, I don't think I quit laughing my fool head off for the next 6+ hours. Have you ever done that? It's quite the workout, really.
We laughed at dinner...

And laughed in the room....

And we laughed until I literally HURT. Which leads me to the next thing I've learned about me: I am an ugly laugher. You've heard of the Ugly Cry? Well, Ugly Cry, meet Ugly Laugh because I SO have it.
There are so many pictures with me in them where my head is thrown back, howling in laughter, that those looking at them would absolutely be able to pick my uvula out of a line-up if the need ever arose. What's up with that?

The third thing I've realized is that I cannot, I repeat CAN-NOT, take pictures while hanging with my friends. This probably falls in line with multi-tasking or something, and we've already established that I have a touch of the A.D.D.. I always go on a trip with the lofty goal to take THOUSANDS of pictures and I always wind up with, like, 2. I guess I'm just too busy showing everyone my uvula to be bothered with such trivialities.

Finally, I've learned that scarves are cute, but dangerous accessories if put around the wrong neck. Here is a picture where Kim and I managed to control ourselves for more than 3 seconds (no easy feat, mind you):

Take a look at the rockin scarf that I found on clearance at Target, will ya? Cute, huh? Yeah. Well, it about took my life a time or two. Here's how:

*Apparently fringe fascinates me,
*and apparently when you play with fringe on the end of a scarf that's wrapped around your neck, you tend to pull on it gradually.
*Pulling on it gradually gives the thing enough length that it can wind up under your rear end when you sit down.
*Sitting on a scarf that is already wound a little too tightly around your neck is ALSO effective in giving people an up-close and personal view of one's uvula. I'm just sayin.

Enough about me, though, because the WHOLE reason we were there was to be in the audience of Travis Cottrell's live CD/DVD recording of his new album. Let me tell you something right now, this man and his crew can BRING IT. Wow. I have been to several of the LPM or Deeper Still conferences where he leads worship, so I already knew to expect an amazing offering of glory to God, but last night was beyond my expectations. It was so meaningful and I can't wait for the thing to come out so that I can watch it all over again.

This was one of the best times I've had E-VER. I love my girls so much and I seriously cannot wait till we do this again.

Blessed beyond measure by this crazy web,

Sounds like an awesome trip. I laughed so hard when I read about your scarf mishap. Been there, done that. Oh, and I'm an ugly laugher too, because I wrinkle my nose and eyes as if something smells bad. LOL
