Some Random Gayle-ness

I am bored. And I don't have anything real interesting to share, so I am going to just start typing weird things about me and we'll see where it goes (believe me, I have PLENTY to pull from).
Alrighty, have I ever mentioned that I am left-handed? I am the only one in all of my extended family who can claim that. That's alright, I like to be different.
How about that I had a tumor on my pituitary gland when I was a teenager? Yeah, that was a big deal, well actually, that was a big miracle. I really need to do a whole post on that one, come to think of it, but for right now, I will say that being a Momma was NEVER supposed to be part of my job description....
Here is one that I love to pull out of my repertoire right when someone has just taken a drink: I actually got married while STILL a senior in High School (and NO, I was not pregnant, nor did I become that way until almost 2 years later). The truth is, I just really wanted to, and apparently, it was a good decision because here we are, 14 years later, going strong. Go figure.
Okay, let's see...did you know that my hair has been almost every single color that you can have (apart from unnatural ones)? Yup, I have been everything from a platinum blonde to a raven black (BIG mistake) and all colors in between. Part of that is because I am a beauty school dropout, and you simply cannot be enrolled in Cosmetology School without going nuts with the chemicals. Ya know, come to think of it, I am a blue-eyed, pale white girl who actually had a headful of synthetic hair braided into my own locks. It took HOURS, but I can say that I did it. And it looked really stupid.
Here is another little tidbit for those of you still reading: I lost my last "baby tooth" when I was 20 something. That should embarrass me because it is obvious that I wasn't an active patron to the dentist, but it really doesn't, because...and here is yet another random factoid about
Gayle....I have NEVER had a cavity in my whole life. And yes, I have been to the dentist in the past year. She said that I have some of the cleanest teeth she has ever seen.
Okay, one more (and this is a weird one, y'all). I love to chew on things. I have a particular fetish for those little twisty things on the milk carton that hold the lid in place. Yeah, what's up with that, huh? I told you it was weird. Mark said that I could prove my cavity fact to you by telling you that I have no problem chewing on foil. So other than the obvious oddity, why does that freak you out? What about foil and cavities don't mesh?
Oh man, I am late to get the boys ready for gymnastics...
Now that you have had your existence enriched and enlightened.....OOOOOH! That reminds me...go check out Cindy's post. It's a dead serious one, nevertheless, it's one that we all need to be aware of in my opinion.
But before you go, what's the foil deal? Gotta run.

What's the foil deal? When it accidentally happens to me, it is like sticking bamboo under my fingernails. Not a pleasant experience- very painful. I like learning random facts about you. One of my best friends got married right after graduation- they are still going strong too.

The foil thing is that it makes your mouth all tingly, and makes you salivate. Not in a good way. It's somewhat akin to sticking your tongue to a 9 volt battery.

Okay, now I'm squicked out just thinking about it.....

It is always so FUN to read your blog! Let me just say that you sound young and young at heart and girl if we lived anywhere near each other, I'd be over for some hair repair..read my post from march 16th...it hasn't gotten a whole lot better!

that whole chewing on the foil deal...I'm not sure what to say? and no cavities...grr!

Lastly, I've heard that lefties are BRILLIANT! My son is one and I must admit that is true!

Loved your post today!

OOOOOOO! Foil paper and fillings, well, it makes my teeth hurt! I think there's some sort of chemical reaction that occurs...I don't know really, but it's bad. Really, really bad.

I loved your post!

Can I steal it??

I love to read random facts about the people I like!

I wish I had gotten married when I was still in HS. I love my husband that much!!!

I've only dyed my hair close to my natural almost black color, and I wasn't always as dark haired as I am now. I was sandy blonde till 14 then from there, bye-bye blonde!

I'll save the rest for my random facts post, and you'll just have to mosey on over and read it!

I think we'd be good real life friends!

You chew on foil? Well, now I know what to get you for Christmas. That and a year supply of plastic milk rings.

I love that you started your last comment to me with the word "CRAP". I could so hang out with you- i will eat the chocolate and wash it down with milk, while you chew on the wrappers and the milk cap thingy. Sounds like a match made in heaven, if you ask me.

Great post. It is always fun to learn things about people!
I married my Highschool sweetheart when I was 20---we've been married for 19 yrs this summer ( together for 25yrs)
I can not wait to hear about your tumor miracle~~so glad you got the job of Mama!
My mom is a hairdresser--famous words--it'll grow back or You'll love it in 2 weeks.
I also skipped the dentist thing for about 4 years--no tartar or plaque! i think you either have great teeth or you don't!
The Foil thing just icks me out! I can say I've never tried it. I only have 3 fillings, but it would scare me.
Thanks for sharing.

Very fun post! Do post about your miracle!!
I had never had a cavity in my life until about 3 years ago. I moved to VA and went in to the new dentist boasting about never having had a cavity...I had EIGHT!!!!!!!!! It'd been a few years since my last check-up and a few kids. But still! Sigh! But I didn't get mercury fillings, so I can't respond to your inquiry about chewing aluminum foil, although I can't recall the last time I actually did that.

I'm so envious about your teeth. I've got more than my share of fillings. UGH! That's so sweet that you were married so young. I wanted to get married right after high school but John was too busy being in the army and then in the police academy to even meet me. It was 2 years after I finished college when we got married. Fun post!

Gayle you're hilarious! And daring...and very very cool. All wrapped up into one might-I-say-very-adorable woman! Still in h/s you say? You know, that really doesn't stun me after this past year with our daughter. You'd have to have gotten married in high school to your half-brother while living on a boat in Mississippi and modeling ballcaps part time and making and selling candybar flavored baby food during the day. That might get me thinking hmm.....

I like when you're bored, it was a good post. But then they all are! xo

I don't think I knew about the getting married WHILE you were still a senior - wow! - May I ask - why? - Did you just want to get married when you did??? -

I want that SMILE and those TEETH! - My teeth are not the best - at all - I've always had trouble with them. - It's something I am so embarassed and ashamed about and I need prayer for - because I do covet other people's beautiful pearly whites! - Charity
