Doubling Up... Oh the Shame

I've heard a few of you mention on your blogs (what I've named) The Great Facebook Apostasy recently, and I must confess right here on my own innocent little blog, that I, too, have had my attentions captured by that wicked Connecter of ALL Peoples. It's like the show "This is Your Life" only it's amped up on speed. Or crack, more accurately, because it's just about that addicting.

Anyway, as so many of you already know, there is this "thing" going around FB wherein you record 25 random facts about yourself (see, it's even stealing the dern meme's). And then you put it up there, hoping, but pretending like you don't really care, that the boyfriend you had in the 8th grade doesn't think your weird.

Oh wait. Mine does. But he married me that way. ;)

To prove this, I give you a picture, that I was recently tagged in, of Homecoming Court, and look, that's me and Mr. Mark right there on the far right.

I've said all of the above to say, that I am not going to allow FB to have a meme that isn't shared right here as well. Maybe this will release some of the guilt I have about 2-timing. We'll see...

1. I love to talk

2. But for some reason, I’m having trouble coming up with 25 things to say.

3. My life is awesome.

4. Even though there have been some pretty sucky parts, I’m still thankful for the lessons.

5. Being “real” is pretty important to me. I’m not a big fan of pretense.

6. I hate cherry flavored anything. Except for cherry limeades at Sonic, but that’s absolutely where I draw the line.

7. I LOVE to laugh.

8. But not at others.

9. Well, unless you fall in front of me, because then, I’m totally gonna laugh at you. I’ll feel bad for doing it, but I’m gonna laugh. Probably hysterically. Sorry.

10. I HATE it when people feel bad. I mean really hate it.

11. I love my husband and children more than anything on the planet.

12. I love my Father even more.

13. My friends are ALL awesome. Even if you and I are way different, I appreciate what you bring into my life, and I’m grateful.

14. I love quiet.

15. I rarely have it.

16. Coffee first thing in the morning is non-negotiable. After that, I can do water or whatever…

17. I can’t have caffeine after about 4 p.m. because I won’t sleep that night. And if I do fall asleep I have WHACKO nightmares.

18. I hate it when people talk when I’m trying to listen to something. It drives me NUTS.

19. I absolutely LOVE to travel, but I share Dorothy’s sentiments in saying “there’s no place like home”.

20. I love to learn. That’s something I wish I would have realized while I was in high school. ;)

21. I’ve probably learned more while home schooling my kids than all the years of my education combined.

22. Lists make me happy. (Except this one)

23. However, spontaneity and flexibility are the way I roll.

24. I used to be a night owl, but now I’m more of a morning person.

25. I actually HATED to admit that last thing.

Oh, and I am feeling MUCH better! Thanks guys...

Gayle, you are so funny! I totally agree about you with the Dorothy thing. I love traveling, but I love being home, too.

Guess I'm a two timer two, I also listed mine on face book and on my blog... lol
I miss you Gayle... Tell Anna I said Hello. You and She are about the only thing I miss about Co-op... Opps did I just write that? Ok, ok I miss Jenny and Jennifer and Dondee too, but that is about it...

Gayle, what a hoot! I too have been taken hostage by Facebook. Dang, it is some addictive stuff, isn't it?

There's gotta be a patch by now for this addiction. I'm gonna call my pharmacy today and find out.

...I too am a laugher of someone elses physical mishaps. Fall off your chair I will chuckle, fall down a flight of stairs and I'll bust a gut. Maybe that's why I do so well as a 911/police dispatcher.

One of the reasons I love FB are all the old pictures. I've seen some good ones of you on there!!

ROFL!! My girls keep telling me I need to do this on my FB and I refuse. LOL. I do enough of these on my blogs.. LOL.

Loved reading yours though. It's always fun to learn about more people!!

Love the photo!!! :)
I'm with you on #18.
I would love for #24 to become a reality in my life.

Mine stayed loyal to FB... maybe I should consider 2-timing and posting it on the old blog.

And I'm so glad you have a name for the Great Facebook Apostasy. It really is sad.

after being tagged so many times on FB - I had thought about doing the same. You know for us bloggers - if we are going to spend that much time on anything - it HAS to go on the blog :).

But then I really just wanted to link to my blog post #100. It list 100 random things about me. LOL

Maybe I will finally do this thing too!
Blessings Sweet Friend!

I hate all the memes going around FB...I hate them in the blog world and now they have plagued our beloved FB....what's a girl to do?
I think I will refuse to participate from now on.
So don't tag me, kay! ;-)

We have a lot in common, other than the fact I am not a petite, pretty dark haired person. I just did my list of 25 random things. I guess I should post it on my blog. I was just too lazy to do it yesterday.

Hey Gayle! I just want to say that you are exceptionally talented with writing! I am just amazed! I love reading your blogs. I believe you could write a book! You really should consider it, if you haven't already.

I have a facebook account but don't do a lot there. I did post this meme there and on my blog.

I had a whacko nightmare last night about subbing in the public school. Ahhh!!! Maybe I should give up the caffeine!

Enjoyed your list!

Well, if you remember correctly, there was some discussion about #9 in Atlanta. I will laugh with you all day long over this, we will reinact it, laugh some more, and cry about it til we can't anymore!

I have found my laughter twin! LOL

I'm a facebook junkie too and for the several days that I had the flu and felt like doing nothing else, I did probably no less than 10 of those FB memes. Good for killing time. :)

The laughing bit of 7,8 and 9 is totally me. And the coffee thing. Gurl, funny stuff.

This is funny. I just posted the same facebook tag on my blog. I've got so little online time that I only have time for one internet habit... so now I'm double posting.

So you don't like cherry flavor??? I think anything cherry flavor is the cummulation of all goodness! Watermelon flavor however makes me gag. ~K

Ahh Gayle -- I've not done the 25 random things about me because I can't think of five! Actually, I can but I'm not sure I want people to know all my dirty laundry.

Glad you're feeling better -- I had that crud and there were points I was sure that I'd have to die to feel better.

I am *so* with you on #18

I like lists too, it's comforting! You're so funny, FB is pretty amped up, isn't it? I go from blogging to fb, back and forth and don't give either one proper attention, lol. If you add your blogfriends, ad me, I'm Stacey Poirier Crossley! You'll class up my fb friends list a little.
