O Christmas Tree...(and a mantle for good measure)

Sara over at Butterville is having a Christmas carnival and I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. Because I'm a bandwagon jumper, you see. Well, that is unless it's a bad bandwagon.....if it's a bad bandwagon, then I'm not jumping....

So without further discourse, this is our tree:

There is a star at the top, but for some reason it seems to blend into the picture. Rest assured, it's there, though. I just knew you might lose sleep if it weren't, so I wanted to be quick to point it out. I really do care, folks, and it's the least I can do. Really.
Since Mark has an allergy to pine, we've never had a real tree. Honestly that's perfectly alright with me since it's less work. And I'm pretty consistently all about less work.
This next picture is of our mantle. We are huge Nutcracker fans around here and I found 2 of these fellas at Old Time Pottery on Black Friday for only $4. I was ecstatic because it made my mantle. And since my mantle is made, I find it important to share that with you.

Next up is my favorite part. It's our collection of handicapped ballerinas. We are all about being P.C. around the Westie abode, so just because a ballerina loses her extremity is no reason for us to chuck her into the trash.
This poor gal below has really had it. She even asked me to shoot her in less than stellar lighting because she's such a shell of who she once was. Bless her heart, she's sadly been reduced to a seated position rather than hanging, which is the bottom of the barrel in Ornamentland.

Well, that was fun! I have many more decorations that I could share with you, but since this is really a carnival about Christmas trees, and I've already cheated once by showing you my mantle, I'd better stop. Plus, my laundry is threatening to overtake me.
For more Christmas Tree Bling, head here, and if you didn't get the chance to enter my contest for free Starbucks, you can go here. You've got until Friday!

I love the handicap ballerinas. I had forgotten about this. Not sure I'm going to have time to participate. We'll see.

Also, I just remembered... I can sometimes hold shift down and hit enter to get the spaces b/t paragraphs to show.

The ballerina ornaments cracked me up- bet they can stil dance better than me. Your tree and mantle are lovely. We are going to do our sad little tree tonight. It is usually a fancy smancy looking thing, but we have fun doing it. Ok, usually someone is fighting over something...

What a pretty tree. Your decorations are beautiful. Thanks for your comment. Just wanted to tell you the walls look like that because we live in a log cabin. It was nice in the beginning, but its very hard to decorate, let alone hang pictures!

How sweet that your ballarina may only be able to sit, but she stil is loved enough to be included. :) What a great message for the kids.

Looks great. Love the handicap ballerina. We had the Fairies from Sleeping Beauty that kept falling apart. This was the first year they didn't go up..

Loved your tree...but loved your humor even more.

So would I do double the time in jail for second time-stolen-flair?

...because pointless stories are my thing too!

Lovely! And I can see the star.
I have a pine allergy too, but we always get a real tree. I just like to torture myself. Although after helping my mom assemble her artificial tree yesterday, I'm not sure I understand why people say they're easier than a real tree...of course for me, the true ease of a real tree is that I don't touch it! LOL

I love your tree. No room for a tree in our inn this year.
And hey! It's okay if your ornaments look like they came from Sid's room! (Toy Story...)
