Alrighty, I know I went M.I.A. for a few days, but before I get into that, I must first take care of some bloggy business.

Earlier this week, I met up with some of the bloggers who live in my area for dinner. It was SO much fun getting to hang out with the girls. Some of them I know in real life, and some I was able to put a face and voice to the wonderful personalities that I have been reading for awhile....not that blog-hopping is all I ever do, though. No seriously. I DO have a life. Really.

Anyway, it came to my attention over the blazing fire that was scorching my eyebrows, that my profile picture is...shall we say...archaic. "It doesn't even look like you anymore" was what my sweet friend, Distybug, informed me of as she was catching shrimp in mid-air with her mouth.

And I have been pondering since that moment, that there is a reason for my conundrum...actually there are TWO reasons now that I think about it.

The first is that I am always the one wielding the beloved camera. I am seriously never without the thing. In fact, it resides in my purse in case their is ever a photo-op, and I want you to know, there have been plenty. The obvious issue here is that since I am the one taking the pictures, I am never the one in the pictures.

Numero dos is that when someone DOES get my picture, it looks like THIS. Lord have mercy.

SO, before I decided to pack up my kids and camp for a couple of nights, (quite literally right before, since you can see that I am in my van) I snapped this picture of me:

Now we can all sleep a little better tonight, huh? I will make a bigger effort henceforth and heretofore to have Mark snap my picture so that I can update my profile, but this is not going to be it.

I had the best time with just me and my kids and all of nature, but I haven't seen my hubs in 2 days because of it, so I need to wrap this up. I will tell you all about it soon, but until then, I will leave you with my newfound buddy from the petting zoo:

HAAA!! Notice any resemblance?

You are soooooo pretty!!!

You DO need a new avatar.

And I need to call Gayle over for another photo session, as she's the one who took the photos on my blog and made over my blog!!

I do love your blog and am sad when you don't post for a few days...

Oh, and one more thing:

If you EVER EVER EVER compare yourself to that hideous creature EVER EVER EVER again, I will be so mad!

I mean, that thing is sooo ugly I didn't even know what it was!!!

Straighten up! Wipe that look off your face! Get your feet off of there! Stand up straight! Were you born in a barn? Stop it! Did you hear me?? I'm gonna whip your tushie!!

And all of those other mommie sentiments!

Is that a goat or something?

Well, I don't know if I know you well enough to say this, but the only resemblance I can think of is that you are both horny??? Sorry, I actually hate that word, but that is funny to me, seeing as you haven't seen your hubby for a few days...

By the way, you are beautiful! More pics would be great!

Gayle, you are hilarious. Are you raggin' on my picture takin' skilz cuz the one you took of your self is lovely. When I take pictures of myself all I can think of is how greasy my face is and how enormous my pores are, much to my dismay.

Actually, that kind of makes me feel pretty good about the picture I took of you.

And I'm not in it at ALL.

that's a great shot of you.

I always take pictures of myself. I hate when other people take them. I always look goofy. Hallie (fromtherubberroom) is the only one who's ever taken a decent shot of me. And that's only because I like her so much that I forget to be self conscious.

I'm impressed that you can take such a pretty picture of yourself! I would've gotten like half a nose and one side of my face if I had've tried that!
Glad you guys had so much fun at dinner!
By the way, I found some tirmasu (spelling?) coffee creamer. You are right...yummy!

Glad y'all had a great time. Actually that is a great picture of you. I have always wanted blue eyes but the Lord decided I needed mystery eyes. My hubby swears they change color with my mood. ;-)
Can't wait to hear more about your camping trip. Did you see any interesting BUGS? haha!

JANE!!! ROFLOL!!! You have just about made me spit my coffee at the screen laughing! :D

That was some quick wit sister...and heaven knows that will endear me to someone faster than anything!

Girl, you look nothing like that creature!! And you are so clever taking a picture looking up! I know you are lots younger than me, but once you get to a certain age, you have to look up in your pictures or you have a double chin!!

And BTW, that thing looks like Jar-Jar Binks!

okay, I like you even better now that you liked my naughty comment!!! I am such a twit that I was nervously thinking this morning that I might have offended you! Glad you told me to come back and check your reply! Hope to amuse each other in RL one day!

Rats. It is just as I'd suspected.

You are gorgeous.
With beautiful eyes.
And perfect teeth.
And amazing skin.
And hair that I covet.
And now???
PROOF that your arms are stinking skinny.

Could you PLEASE gain some weight or get an ugly haircut or develop chicken pox or something before I have to be seen next to you?

I'm so glad you left a comment today! I had to bail out of bloglines, and for some reason Google Reader never updated me on some of my fave blogs... including yours! Glad to find you again!

and your cutie pic, chica! so so so cute!

Hey I'm impressed. I'm to afraid to put up a picture of me.. it wouldn't turn out as GREAT as yours. Plus I'd have to look at it all the time. LOL.

Maybe I'll take one when I'm having a good hair day and just post it for fun.
